Lunacycle is on her way!

Quite a delayed post but here goes! Anna Krumplicska had an awesome idea for a Valentine day's present - she got us a bicycle geocoin! For all of you muggles out there - geocaching is one of the most awesome activities on the planet! It's a modern alternative for treasure hunting and adventuring. Nowadays you can find caches everywhere - literally in every city, country, region, potato! Caches are small boxes that are hidden in interesting places and via ingenious methods. Boxes that shall be found by awesome explorers - that's us, fellow (future) geocachers!

Anyway, above you can see us: tomato, Spotty the lord and potato ready to let the bicycle geocoin go on its own adventure. The cool thing about geocoins is that as soon as we leave it in a geocache, it shall start to travel with other cachers who pick it up on their way. Whereas we can track its journey online! Our idea was to follow the bike's path and travel to the awesome locations/countries/lands that it ends up in.

We just came back from a two-day bike tour in Northern Denmark. We rode through many beautiful tiny towns and amazing landscapes - YES! Denmark has a lot to offer for adventurers. We took in everything from tiny bridges that join islands and cut across lakes, the martial looking West coast with its high surfing North sea waves to the wilderness of the East coast and the exciting and familiar Baltic Sea.

We spent the night in the very artsy resort town of Thyborøn where we slept outside in an ex-bunker that has been converted to a shelter for travelers and passionate outdoor enthusiasts. Despite the cold night (-2 degree C), the sun greeted us first thing in the morning. Besides that, we had the benefit of sleeping in the background of waves crashing on the shore 50 or so meters away. After a quick breakfast and packing we opened the nearby geocache and dropped Lunacycle in there!

I'll try to post updates as soon as our geocoin starts to move about. :) Happy holidays and have fun geocaching everyone!
