Coconut Oil

We cook with it, brush our teeth with it, use it as lotion or when our nose goes dry or there is an aphtha in our mouth (Oil-pulling, just one example from the net: http://authoritynutrition.com/oil-pulling-coconut-oil/).

It leaves no oil-taste in the food and makes it taste better, cleans perfectly and no morning breath :P, hydrates our skin, heals aphtha or cold sores/herpes (by oil pulling for 10-15 minutes a couple of times a day)! Ever since I discovered, I love coconut I just love it! :D

According to my findings on the Net, Coconut oil is one of the few foods that can actually be classified as a superfood. There is a hype surrounding coconut oil that really makes me wonder what is this tropical plant is all about: it contains a unique combination of fatty acids with powerful medicinal properties.
Coconut oil contains what is known as medium chain fatty triglycerides, which are fatty acids of a medium length. Most oils are considered to be long-chain in fatty acids, but coconut oil is metabolized differently. They go from the liver to the digestive tract, where they are then used as a quick source of energy. Places where people eat coconut oil are considered to be the healthiest on the planet Earth. :)
